Rules

The Fog of War Tournament is a double-elimination Hearthstone tournament in Daly City. The opening bracket is randomly seeded. If the field is not 8 or 16 players, a qualifier fills the bracket and the other players start on the elimination ladder. Ties break toward the player with the higher point total.

Bracket: best of 5. Each player brings 3 characters. The winner keeps the same character; the loser must switch to a character not yet used in that match. The first player to lose all three characters loses the match. Decks cannot be changed during a match.

Elimination ladder: best of 3, two characters. Order follows elimination place by points. The bracket winner plays the ladder as the final opponent.

Championship: best of 7 between the ladder winner and the bracket winner, using 3 characters plus one wildcard that can only be played as the fourth character.

Points: 4 for attending, 1 per bracket game win, 1 per bracket match win, −1 per bracket or championship game loss or draw, 1 bonus per eliminated player in the current round for players who advance, 2 per ladder match win, 2 for winning the ladder, and 3 for winning the tournament.

Prizes: 1st 40 packs, 2nd 15 packs, 3rd 7 packs, 4th 2 packs. Prizes follow final ladder and championship position, not total score.
