The Fog of War Tournament is a double elimination tournament. We will randomly seed the initial bracket matchups. If the number of players do not total 8 or 16 we may have a qualifier to enter the bracket. Those who do not qualify will automatically be placed on the elimination ladder. Tie breakers will be given to the player with a higher total point score. The Bracket: Each match-up will be a best out of 5 games. Each player will be allowed 3 characters per match-up. Upon winning, a player must select the same character. Upon losing, a player must select a new character they have not yet used in this match-up. First player to lose all three characters loses the match. Deck creation or alterations are not permitted during a match-up. Deck creation or alterations may be made between match-ups, however the tournament will not wait for a deck to be created or altered. If a player is not ready with a minimum of 3 complete decks with different characters when called for a match, the player forfeits. After bracket elimination: You will be placed on the Elimination Ladder. The Elimination Ladder: Each match-up will be a best of 3 games. Each player will be allowed 2 characters per match-up. Upon winning, a player must select the same character. Upon losing, a player must select a new character they have not yet used in this match-up. First player to lose both characters loses the match. The ladder will be ordered by elimination place calculated by points. Ties will be broken by total previous tournament scores. Once on the ladder, the earliest eliminated player will play the next eliminated player. The winner of the bracket will also play on the elimination ladder as the final opponent. The Championship Match: The winner of the ladder and the winner of the bracket will meet in a best of 7 match-up. The Championship match-up will be played with 3 characters and a 4th wildcard character of their choosing (can be a new character or an already used character). The wildcard character may only be used as the fourth character. Earning Points: 4 bonus points will be given for attending a tournament. 1 point will be given for each game win on the bracket or bracket qualifier. 1 point will be given for each match win on the bracket. 1 point will be taken away for each game loss on the bracket or championship match. 1 point will be taken away for each game draw on the bracket or championship match. 1 bonus point for each eliminated player in the current round will be awarded to advancing players. 2 points will be given for each match win on the elimination ladder. 2 points will be given to the elimination ladder winner. 3 points will be given to the tournament winner. Prizes: 1st place - 40 Packs 2nd place - 15 Packs 3rd place - 7 Packs 4th place - 2 Packs Prizes will be determined by ending position on the ladder and championship results, not total score. |
